Some South American countries leaders in Peru in the 18th held an emergency meeting to discuss the political crisis in Venezuela due to the presidential election.

South American officials said that the meeting will be on behalf of the Union of South American countries on the evening of 18 held in Lima. Peru is currently the rotating presidency of the Union of South American countries. The organization of election observers have said Maduro win the election legitimate. The officials also said that the President of Peru, Uruguay, Argentina and Brazil, the four countries will attend the meeting, the leaders of some other countries may also participate in the meeting.
Venezuelan opposition leader Capriles has refused to accept the results of the presidential election, he accused the voting centers, there are a large number of violations, full retrial of the voting.
